This is a simple test of luminance using HDRShop to create a basic HDR file.  The tutorial is located HERE.
This HDR file was created with HDRShop as well (tutorial HERE) and the original bitmap was created in Bryce as a panoramic render.
This image was just a JPG that I took with my digital Camera.  This shows that you do not have to use a panorama to create a HDR file and that these work just fine.
This was one of my original HDR tests.  The scene was created in Carrara Studio 3 with the spherical camera at a 2:1 ratio.  The image was then taken into HDRShop and the techniques described in the tutorials above were used to give it more lighting capabilities.
This is my most recent test.  The scene was again rendered in CS3 with a spherical camera and then altered in HDRSHOP.
